About
Heaven On Hearth has been a very special project of love for cooking, eating and entertaining. A dream and a journey, I was intent on embarking on. With my husband’s love, support, and encouragement it was created.
It all came together on a beautiful Sunday morning, February 21, 2010 over one of my typical brunches. Between mouthfuls of spiced pancakes “Robert Style”, drizzled with melted butter, topped with mixed berries, dripping with warm syrup and served with a side of crispy bacon, we came up with the name that would change my dream into reality.
At last, something tangible, my first step. A year to the day later, I am now launching my blog!
A little tidbit about me… As long as I can remember, I have always had a love and passion for anything and everything food related. I have a library of cookbooks, cooking magazines and food novels. Over the years, I have collected old cookbooks from family members going back to World War I, both recipes in print and handwritten, ideas jotted on paper. I even have the first 15-course meal I prepared at age 16…and the list goes on.
I was the owner of a restaurant, caterer, event planner, sauce-maker, taught cooking classes, given talks on foods, written food articles, been a judge in food related contests and I am a member of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs and the Société Mondiale du Vin.
However, my most rewarding moments are sitting with family, friends and loved ones, sharing a wonderful home-cooked meal and entertaining.
I invite you to be a part of my passion in creating new recipes, revisiting old and familiar ones, adding a twist every now and then to the tried and true recipes, making them my own, developing, tasting and experimenting with some wonderful dishes. I look forward to sharing all the tips, tricks, recipes, ideas and knowledge that have been passed on to me lovingly over the years. Sit back, relax and allow the wafts of culinary scents, from the bubbling pots on my hearth, to warm your heart and soul!
Welcome to Heaven On Hearth…Where the unbounded, unbridled and passionate love for food is channeled straight to my hearth.
